The Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course
The 10th annual Tearing Up the Turf Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, September 16th at the Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course in Mechanicville, NY.
In 2010 the tournament raised over $60,000! Over the past eight years our generous supporters have helped us raise more than $330,000 for the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center (DSAHRC). This past year all of our proceeds went directly to the Education Fund at the DSAHRC. This Education Fund fully supported the Reading Tutorial Program, which provides one-to-one tutoring with certified reading specialists for individuals with Down syndrome. Our proceeds also provided educational consulting, educational seminars, the purchase of leveled reading books, as well as the position of Educational Coordinator at the DSAHRC.
This year Tearing Up the Turf with Timothy and Friends Golf Tournament is becoming its own not for profit organization. One of our goals is to support inclusive education for students with Down syndrome. We will continue to help students become better readers by providing expert reading instruction.
Tearing Up the Turf is currently seeking sponsors who can join us and contribute to the continued success of the tournament. On the enclosed flyer, you will find our golf and sponsorship form which offers a variety of sponsorship options.
